The Immunology Strategic Partnerships Manager is responsible for developing the Thought Leader Strategic plan for the therapeutic areas assigned, including objectives, strategies and initiatives. This individual is responsible for coordinating Medical Affairs activities and relationships with Thought Leaders and key scientific partners across Immunology including National and Regional Thought Leaders, significant academic institutions, large community research sites, and research cooperatives. The Immunology Strategic Partnerships Manager will work cross functionally with both clinical and commercial teams to ensure a unified Genentech approach across all Immunology molecules and diseases in the area of key strategic partnerships. The Strategic Partnerships Manager is responsible for the development and facilitation of the Engagement Plan for National and Regional Thought Leaders in the therapeutic areas assigned. The Strategic Partnerships Manager will work closely with the US Cooperative Groups to represent Genentech Medical Affairs and to serve as the primary liaison to the clinical organization. This individual will represent Genentech to external customers in these key areas to support Genentech's clinical strategy across all diseases and molecules in Immunology. The Strategic Partnerships Manager demonstrates strategic vision, and implements tactics to ensure progress toward team, department, and corporate goals.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

* Responsible for the development of the Thought Leader Strategic Plan for the therapeutic areas assigned.
* Accountable for the evaluation of the effectiveness of the Thought Leader Strategic Plan on a semi-annual basis.
* Responsible for the coordination of Medical Affairs activities and relationships with Thought Leaders and key scientific partners across Immunology, including planning, implementation and monitoring of an integrated tactical plan for Medical Affairs/Clinical Science activities across therapeutic areas and molecules.
* In consultation with key internal clinical and commercial partners, accountable for the development and facilitation of the Thought Leader Engagement Plans in assigned therapeutic areas.
* Responsible for implementing the analysis of thought leader identification and influence mapping in the therapeutic areas assigned.
* Responsible for documentation of Thought Leader Strategic Plans within Medical Affairs database.
* Responsible for the coordination of all Immunology Clinical Science activities in the US Cooperative Groups, including planning, implementation and monitoring of an integrated tactical plan for Clinical Science activities across therapeutic areas and molecules.
* In consultation with the Group Director, responsible for the implementation and leadership of the Cooperative Group 3 year strategic plan.
* Responsible for collaboration across Immunology Development teams, Medical Affairs, Molecule Teams and Marketing to ensure the Thought Leader Strategic Plan, individual Engagement Plans, and the Cooperative Group plans effectively support cross functional needs and goals
* Responsible for collaboration with Market Planning and Competitive Intelligence to proactively identify changes that may impact strategic partnerships
* Responsible for establishment of a regular and formal communication plan to ensure all appropriate functional groups are informed of the Thought Leader Strategic Plans, progress to goals in the Engagement Plans, and status of the Cooperative Group plan
* Serve as an active member on the US Medical Team as well as extended marketing teams to align and coordinate multi-department thought leader initiatives.
* Accountable for establishing and maintaining an environment of high morale and commitment through modeling leadership actions, behaviors, and professional ethics
* Responsible for presenting group outcomes and goals to key internal stakeholders (e.g. Medical Directors, Commercial colleagues, committees, and others, upon request)

Qualifications: Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
(Minimum Requirements)
* Strong science/clinical background with advanced degree preferred (e.g. Pharm.D., Ph.D., MD)
* Minimum of 5 years experience as a clinician and/or in clinical research.
* Minimum of 5 years in pharmaceutical industry
* Experience working directly with the Cooperative Groups preferred
* Demonstrated leadership competence
* Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
* Willingness to travel (approximately 60%)
