The newly established Department of Microbial Infection and Immunity at The Ohio State University College of Medicine (http://biomed.osu.edu/mii/) invites applications for several tenure-track faculty positions at all levels. Candidates should have a MD, MD/PhD, or PhD, postdoctoral experience, documented evidence of high quality research, and a strong commitment to education and research at a major research university.

Current strengths of the department include innate immunity, mucosal pathogens, intracellular parasitism, therapeutics, and neuroimmunology. The Department has outstanding facilities and support, including a vibrant collaborative research community, an open laboratory environment that promotes interactions, and state of the art BSL3 and core facilities. The Department is closely affiliated with the interdepartmental Center for Microbial Interface Biology (http://cmib.osu.edu/), which administers an NIH-funded training grant in microbial pathogenesis.

Preference will be given to funded individuals with research programs focused in the following key thematic areas: adaptive immunity, microbial genomics, microbial community interactions, and tissue microenvironment biology. The successful applicant will be expected to develop and maintain an extramurally funded research program, perform cooperative research with others, and participate in graduate and medical student education. Faculty will be provided with a competitive salary and start-up package.
