Bacterial Geneticist


This individual will lead a group working on identifying, isolating and characterizing genes encoding enzymes involved in novel organic transformations in anaerobic microbes. This position requires a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Microbiology or related discipline. Expertise in a diverse set of molecular biological methods such as library construction/screening and expression of genes in heterologous hosts is critical. Experience working with anaerobes and/or non E. coli novel bacterial strains and metabolic engineering is also desirable. The candidate will have a proven track record of success as evidenced by a strong publication record. This individual will also have exceptional organizational skills and the ability to work effectively with team members with diverse skills. This individual will also have excellent oral and written communication skills necessary to articulate progress in the form of reports, publications and patents.
