NSF's Directorate for Education & Human Resources (EHR) seeks candidates for the position of Deputy Assistant Director. EHR's mission is to achieve excellence in U.S. science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education at all levels and in all settings in order to support the development of a diverse and well-prepared workforce of scientists, technicians, engineers, mathematicians and educators and a well-informed citizenry that have access to the ideas and tools of science and engineering. Serves as a member of the Directorate leadership team and as primary assistant to the Assistant Director in all aspects of management of the Directorate for Education and Human Resources (EHR). EHR consists of four divisions: Undergraduate Education; Graduate Education; Human Resource Development; and Research on Learning in Formal and Informal Settings. The Deputy Assistant Director has managerial and oversight responsibilities for the effective use of staff and resources in meeting organizational goals and objectives. Supervises and provides leadership and guidance to staff members in the Office of the Assistant Director. The Deputy Assistant Director participates with the Assistant Director in the planning, implementation, and coordination of EHR programs and operations with other senior managers and serves as Assistant Director in her/his absence.
Appointment to the Senior Executive Service positions may be on a career basis, on a one-to-three year limited term basis, or by assignment under the Intergovernmental Personnel Act (IPA) assignment provisions, with a salary range of $155,550 to $165,300.
