The Department of Biology at the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa invites senior scientists across a broad spectrum of research interests in the biology of marine organisms to apply for the Sidney and Erika Hsiao Endowed Chair in Marine Biology. The successful candidate will join a faculty with diverse research interests, including many with a strong focus on evolutionary biology and native Hawaiian organisms. Teaching responsibilities will include an upper level undergraduate course and a graduate course in the individual's specialty. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in biology or a related field, evidence of excellence in teaching, a minimum of four years of full-time college or university teaching at the rank of associate professor or equivalent, evidence of research productivity, and be outstanding communicators. Desirable qualifications include strong records of publication with international recognition and extramural funding and plans for a research program that would take advantage of the Hawaiian biota.
