Chairs in Systems Biology
Salary within the Professorial salary range depending on experience and qualifications Ref: EPS/90071
We are seeking two individuals of outstanding scientific quality, who should further enhance Systems Biology at the University, contributing expertise complementary to and synergizing with that already available. You should be internationally recognised as leading scientist in Systems Biology, with an inspiring view of the future of that field and of Science in general, and with experience with, and considerable appreciation of the integration of modelling and experimentation.
You would be expected to have held a senior position in academia or in industry, to be respected widely internationally, and to boast
a track record of producing world-class publications, innovative scientific concepts, and of attracting major research funding.
The two new Professors will be expected to develop their own research groups and take part in and drive many collaborative research projects within the University. They should have a strong appreciation of the value of both experimental and theoretical approaches to the Life Sciences, central interests in Biological or Medical problems and in the application and development of methods of physics, chemistry, engineering, statistics or mathematics addressing these problems.
