Description: A postdoctoral position is immediately available to study expression and function of lung-associated proteins in cell culture and animal models. The successful candidate will perform molecular and cellular biological techniques in cell cultures as wells as knockout/knockin and transgenic animals to characterize the roles of selected lung-associated proteins in health and disease. The position provides a great career growth opportunity for the candidate to develop his/her own project, acquire new skills, participate in grant writing, take a part in seminars and other academic activities including at national and international conferences.
Qualifications: Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent. Must be a United States citizen or hold a US permanent resident card. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in cell biology and molecular biology including cloning, gene expression, and protein trafficking. Experience in animal breeding and surgery is a plus. Candidate is expected to work independently, be highly creative and self-motivated but also must have the ability to work collaboratively. He/she must be interested in working with individuals from many different specialties of biomedical sciences. Preference will be given to candidates with less than 3 years postdoctoral experience.
