In close cooperation with faculty, the appointee will establish and manage multiple setups for advanced fluorescence microscopy (single-, multi-photon and DeltaVision image restoration systems, fitted for FRAP/Photoactivation) and cytometry (analysis and sorting), including appropriate analytical software. Participation in collaborative research will be welcome and encouraged.

The Gene Center is an interdisciplinary institute whose 15 independent groups study the molecular, cellular and developmental mechanisms of gene regulation, using a combination of structural biology/biochemistry, genetics/genomics, bioinformatics and systems biology; experimental models are yeast, fly and mammalian cells. The Center provides a dynamic, highly interactive and internationally diverse scientific environment, located within a vibrant biomedical research campus in Munich-Grosshadern.

Your tasks: Acquisition and maintenance of instrumentation and software; training and advising of users; monitoring new developments in BioImaging through attendance of workshops and conferences; collaborative research.

Your profile: PhD in biology or related field, with substantial experience in advanced fluorescence microscopy, including live cell imaging, and image analysis.
