Position Overview:

The individual hired for this director-level position will have a i) proven track record which demonstrate their ability to develop novel strategies to identify novel drugs with our antiviral drug discovery team which address unmet antiviral medical needs and ii) lead a world class clinical virology team. The Director will optimize interdisciplinary understanding and synergy between both teams and coordinate their work with groups outside the department.

Key Responsibilities:

A successful candidate for this position will serve as an advocate for the antiviral and clinical virology teams and will manage the activities of highly experienced team members. We are seeking a compelling and dynamic leader with a strong publication record and clear ideas on how to attack antiviral drug discovery who will also "listen to the data" and adjust their plans accordingly. The successful candidate must be experienced in managing scientists and have demonstrate the ability to work in a highly matrixed team environment. He or she will play a major role in financial management of the group, lead effective and timely publication and patenting practices and nurture technological innovation. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.

Minimal Requirements

- Ph.D. with 9+ years of productive, relevant post-doctoral experience in a pharmaceutical setting as a group leader/associate director or director in antiviral drug discovery and clinical virology.

- Demonstration of strong oral and written communication skills with a strong track record of scientific talks, publications and patents
